Casey Greene spent 16 years in the UK leading his own bands including – The Pegasus Quartet, Casey Greene Latin Six, Quiver and The Cal Tjader Project. He played throughout the UK in many Jazz clubs and Jazz festivals including London Jazz Festival and Birmingham Jazz Festival.
He has now assembled his new Jazz quartet comprising of the best of the South coast Jazz musicians.
Jeremy Sawkins has been an active member of the Australian music community since the late 1970’s. Having performed all around Australia, he has also performed in Europe and Asia. Apart from leading his own groups, Jeremy has performed and recorded with many prominent musicians and singers including Sting, Jackie Orszacsky, Kristen Cornwell (Belgium), Tina Harrod, Tom Burlinson, Grace Knight, Darren Percival, Nicky Crayson, Lily Dior, Wendy Matthews, Trish Delaney-Brown, Katy Noonan, Kate Miller-Heidke, Melinda Schneider, Ella Hooper, Virna Sanzone, Kristin Berardi, Dr Roger Frampton, David Ades, Alister Spence, Matt McMahon, Lloyd Swanton, Craig Scott, Bernie McGann, Jim Kelly, James Muller, Paul McNamara, Phil Wilson (U.S.A.) James and John Morrison, John Foreman, Don Burrows, The Sydney JazzOrchestra, Monica Trapaga, Bert and Pattie Newton as well as Dominic Miller and Ira Coleman (both from Sting’s band).
Peter Locke is an outstanding Jazz pianist who is constantly playing with national and international Jazz artists including John Morrison’s Swing City, Andrew Dickerson and Dan Barnett.
Mike Walsh has played most jazz venues in Sydney including The Basement, Hilton, Orient and Criterion Hotels and Weinkeller. He has played with many of the best bands over the years including Les Crosby’s Hacienda Jazz band, touring New Zealand and featuring in Napiers Art Deco Festival to an audience of 30000 .
Mark Sutton – Mark has played with the ‘who’s who’ of the Australian Jazz scene including Vince Jones, Mike Nock, Bernie McGann, Dale Barlow, Sean Wayland, James Muller, Matt Macmahon.
He has also had the good fortune of playing with many visiting international artists including Wynton Marsalis, Bob Mintzer, Peter Omara, and, “Senator” Eugene Wright.
The Casey Greene Quintet repertoire comprises of a mix of classic arrangements of 1960’s Blue Note Jazz era, with compositions from Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Dexter Gordon, Benny Golson, Hubert Laws, Chick Corea as well and some fresh original compositions from Casey, Jeremy and Peter.
